Heat Treatment P20, Plastic Mould Steel
P20, Plastic Mould Steel Supplier in Pune Supplies mold steel in a pre-hardened condition which requires stress relieving process before its use for desired purposes although hardening heat treatment is not a necessary process. The stress is thermally released by heating the temperature of approx 482ºC and cooling the ambient temperature during the process. In the above process P20, Plastic Mould Steel must be annealed prior to hardening.
Preheating of P20, Plastic Mould Steel: Heat at the temperature ranging from exceeding 400ºF per hour (222ºC per hour) to 1250ºF (677ºC) and cooling at room temperature. The most critical temperature for hardening is 1405ºF (763ºC).
Process involves heating mold rapidly at the temperature of around 1550ºF (843°C). Soak in cold water for 30 minutes and change the time gap depending upon the thickness of the bars and steel materials.
In quenching pressurized gas pass through the bars at temperatures ranging from 150-125ºF (66-51ºC) and quench the oil until the oil turns black approx at the temperature of 900°F (482°C), then cool at room temperature.
